Haven't got that far, yet. I tend to start at the back and have just finished being cross about the XO270 comparative test where there is data for only two out of the three comparators...

Got to compare apples with apples, the collective on here probably use their boats quite differently than a Cat owner . If you wanted tons of deck space , interior volume, massive saloon, yet pretty decent rough weather ride, smell of an oily rag fuel burn do 30 knots with just twin 380 bhp engines what 45' mono hull is going to beat hands down a 45' cat based on that criteria?
Plenty of new tech coming through on cats that is quite eye opening , take this below , super slick a cross rough water

Very impressive.
Some good innovative ideas and impressive engineering there, although all those moving parts / linkages will mean high initial cost, and ongoing maintenance.
Nice to see something different though.

I'd also like to see inboard engines rather than outboards, but for a prototype it's a very good start.

Not going to be easy to find a berth for a cat in somewhere like the SOF, I suspect.

certainly looks like a good solution! as much as it would be fun to try, I love being able to feel whats happening in the sea (and having the prop out of the water ect) as you can get a good idea of what your limits are, and know when its a pub day. i feel that it would make people more complacent with a bit of chop, and hit the limits of it where it turns from fun to not to much... the suspension must have its limits..

A little bit like my old disco, with active cornering. as the car is dead level going around corners, it can fool you to thinking you can go round them faster, until you loose grip. the old ones used to roll a lot so you knew you were near loosing traction. does this make sense?

I guess you have use some common sense, if the thing is going airborne time to knock it back a bit !
