Intercooling for volvo MD11D

I'm thinking of installing an intercooling unit to my Volvo Penta MD11D. (Raw water cooled, and in service since 1984). Are there any drawbacks, or can I just instal it? Secondly, what can be the price of an intercooling unit for such an engine. ?
