intake water pump seal

My volvo 2002 water pump seal is leaking. I tried a search but it's not proving fruitful.
I know there has been a number of posts on this repair over the years and was hoping someone could give me good advice as to tackling this job?

Download the workshop manual from here, look at page 25 where you'll find instructions and an exploded diagram. The main thing to note is the way the lip seals are orientated - one points one way to keep the water in, the other points the other way to keep the oil in - look at how the old ones are fitted when you take the pump apart.
