I would like to hear from anyone that has had problems with insurance claims from Navigators & General Insurance.

I have been trying to get a small claim settled since Feruary, and have missed all seasons sailing.

Quite often it is down to Underwriters who are known to use any excuse to duck out of paying.

Have you missed and repairs / recommendations to boat that may have been in a Surveyors Report, are you outstanding on any items at all - that they can throw back at you ?

Have you asked them an explanation of why so long to settle ? Have you checked to see if they are Members of Insurance Association or subject to Insurnace Ombudsman ? Mention of this often seems to speed up processes. Try it nicely at first - as you want to be insured again ! If no joy - go for the jugular.

I have never made a claim but when they were in Norwich I always got a reply within 24 hours.
They have moved to Brighton supposedly on 15 September. I am still waiting for a reply to 2 e-mails, one sent on 1 September and the other a chaser last week. Looks like I need to change insurers.
Has anyone any recommendations.

I know this does not answer your question but you and others may find the info useful.

Malcolm, I would give N&G a float test if I were you. Im with Traffords (PBO) and I get very good service from them, at a reasonable price too !
