I need to arrange insurance cover for the new boat.

I am currently with Haven Knox Johnston who have quoted £793.

Cover My Boat have quoted £854.

Has anyone got any suggestions for some good alternatives.

Forget SAGA I don't qualify (yet) /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks

Thanks all.

GJW have just quoted £955 /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

I am not looking for the cheapest, but obviously wanted to get some benchmarks against HKJ.

It looks like I will be staying with them.

Thanks again

Neil

Get a quote from Pantaenius and compare their terms with others.

I looked at it all very closely when I renewed in March and definitely felt that Pantaenius covered more stuff than the norm - based on a close reading of their terms and discussions with an underwriter, rather than the sales blurb.

I paid £985 against my renewal quote from Mardon of £885, but felt it was worth it - obviously we all hope it is a waste of money and we never have to claim, but my mind is definitely more settled by my decision.

Re: SAGA Insurance

We are with Traffords, third year now, good rates and paid out quickly after a theft ( after a bit of argy bargy about the £££s)

Saga insured that narrow boat I worked on they took ages to pay out.

hlb is insured with them I think they have been good over his water ingress shock in salcome.

I suppose your insuring twice as much value as moody blue so its bound to be high.

Try Alker brothers, always been very competative.

Had cause to make a claim 3 years ago, paid without quibble & cheque was there before the boat was back in the water.

Been with them ever since.

Have just reinsured with them(Craftinsure) for the 4th year running,my premium has gone down from last year and when I made a claim they paid out fast and without quibble on damage caused by an accident which was entirely my own fault.
