Towergate Marine Underwriting

Does anyone have any experience of these people? They seem to be offering good rates, but I've heard nothing about them. I'm told that they are backed by Axa.

St Margarets want a 17% increase which seems excessive. No doubt they'll say "7/11". Ther's always an excuse for above inflation increases.......

Don't know about Towergate.
My premium was increased by 20% this year (GJW) but Haven Knox-Johnston matched the cover at the same price as I paid last year.

Hmm, Haven Knox Johnson are asking me for a 13% increase. Questions need to be asked.

Just to be clear, Haven offered me cover at the price quoted without knowing what my increased premium from GJW was. I know that insurance companies do have some flexibility with premiums, but I don't think there was any specific "bending" for my quote.

In any event a 13% increase is still better than 17% and 20% !
