Insurance renewal - Endorsements

Hi all,

I've just had my inland waterways policy renewal documents sent from my insurer. They have added an endorsement which excludes cover for underwater gear. Not having cover for my sterndrive seems a bit risky to me. Is this a common exception these days in policies or should I be shopping elsewhere for my insurance?

I recently renewed mine Dave, no such endorsement. I'm with Craftinsure.

Seems to defeat a large part of the reason for insuring a boat. Have you asked why, (or have they explained why?).

I'm with Haven Knox Johnson. Very happy with them, and made a no quibble claim recently. Paying about £300 pa for a 31 ft sports cruiser on the R Severn.

Sounds like Navigators and General!!!

We had the same last year when our renewal arrived. A quick phone call sorted it out and we got an extra discount as well, so well worth the two minutes on the phone. I think they try and add it for those that dont bother to read their documents.

Thanks for the replies. CX54WEK, it was indeed N&G and I called them to query the endorsement and it was taken off immediately.
