I am in the process of insuring the latest addition to the fleet and am astounded by the difference in quotes from different companies.

So far I have had quotes in the region of £180 to £250 but I have just received another for a staggering £637 and that includes the ncd.

I wonder if I added one too many noughts in the online form?

Are you sure you're not putting the LOA in feet under the "length in metres" heading? /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

fairly sure that I put it in metres where stated and where they did not state metres just asked for size I stated clearly in both, metres and feet.

I have found www.craftinsure.com very reasonable and helpful for the last 2 years. Never had to claim, but their staff have always been helpful when changing policies etc. I have no connection with them. It costs me about £300/ year for a 10.4 m boat. Underwritten by Navigators and General.

I was with Pantaenius for years all over the world but got back to Europe and their prices became stupid. I spent ages getting quotes from UK and French insurance brokers - The least expensive and with the ability to understand the requirements of a sailing boat were http://www.yachtmasterinsurance.co.uk/ Talk to Max - or whoever is in the office = they are all sailors and really helpful.
