Insurance for Inshore Sailing?

I'm fairly new to sailing and have only ever been out with the owner of whatever yacht I've been on. However, as I'm taking out a charter boat soon (which itself is insured), should I be thinking about taking out a separate insurance policy to cover myself? If so, any advice on reputable companies? Thanks.

If you mean Travel / Life / Accident insurance you may find that any existing policies may not cover you while sailing - I found last year that our yearly policy did not cover sailing but could add inshore (Windermere where the boat is) and offshore within 60 miles for no additional cost.

I believe sailing is classed as an extreme sport for insurers... can't see why, its not like its dangerous /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
