GJW Direct are £100 cheaper for me than Haven, Navigator & General, Protect My Boat etc.

Crabber 24, 30K, in all year, no survey required, £100 excess, £156  Another Crabber owner pays £140 through GJW ;)

The other quotes were £240+ which is what I budgeted for! The wife has just said I can now go out and get something pretty... for me

It actually sounds about the right sort of price, whereas your £240+ quotes were very expensive. My net premium works out at about £4.20 per £1000 declared value.

Years ago I was with Haven, I changed boat and ins company to Tower which I regretted, after four years they wanted another survey, another £400.00 to tell me and them the boat was in very good condition for a 1967 yacht. I had a new survey, got a quote from Haven who stated as long as I owned the boat and kept her in good order and maintained I would not need to have another survey. This was confirmed as the previous boat I had for 12 years and only had a survey at the purchase. If your going boating you want something safe to get you around, so not maintaining it is not an option. I will stick with Haven at £202.00

Read recent ins threads , you might not have the cover you think you have
