Instruments power loss

I took advantage of the weather yesterday to take my Hunter out solo.
I engaged the Autohelm (800) to have some lunch and all my instruments shut down. Autohelm anf VHF kept working. I checked fuses and all accessable connections without finding any obvious problems. I returned to the cockpit, after about 5 min's all instruments came back to life. Bit like a Si Fi film!
Batteries are both ok.
Autohelm has it's own supply from bus bar.
Autohelm connection is wired for Autohelm 2000 with sea talk.
Problem did not reoccure
Any ideas would be very welcome

something loose some where, might even be just a poor connection in a "fuse carrier"

Have you fuses or circuit breakers? If the latter there are types that auto reset.
