I have recently aquired a Jeanneau Aquila which has old stowe instruments fitted to the cockpit/heads bulkhead. This is not very good as if there is anyone sitting on the starboard side of the cockpit, the helm cannot read the instruments. I am hoping to move the kit up above the hatch but cannot find a pod that will do the job. Some late 80s and 90s yachts have a wedge shaped pod fitted in front of the hatch garage. Does anyone know where I can buy one of these ?

Try your local Electronics dealer. I replaced our grp wheel pod last year with one supplied via Greenham-Regis in Poole (main shop in Lymington) but I think I remember seeing one also in the Plastimo catalogue too though again primarily for wheel mounting. We also have a console over the mainhatch (surely the best place for instruments) but it is homemade from teak.

Someone sugested using a pod made for a Taxi light/roof mounted sign. Dont know where to get one from maybe local auto supplies. It must be cheaper than a "marine" moulding

we made our's with a wooden plug and fiberglass over it, make the fiberglass a bit thicker than usual so you can sand the fiberglass that is rough, to a smooth surface.

how about a fibre galss "power bulge" from a performance car shop with a teak insert in the front/intake end with instruments in it, built on a "bridge over the hatch?
