Just upgrading all the electronics on Full Circle.
I currently have ST4000 Wheelpiot and Northstar instrument with JRC plotter, so all NMEA0182 and plain vanilla SeaTalk.
Limitations were always around getting NMEA into the ST4000 from Wind info/GPS (only one input)and out to GPS/Plotter.
So, is the NMEA2000/SeaTalkNG interface all singing and dancing?
I now have
C90W plotter,
SPX10/Linear drive autopilot
P70R Autopilot head.
Instruments I cant afford to change for the moment, so I have a Raymarine NMEA box to feed into the system. However I will be getting possibly i70 Raymarine or B&G Triton NMEA2000.
Is this all easy to do?
The books are pretty specific about wire gauges, max lengths for cables, etc, etc.
What are the pitfalls to be avoided?
What is best practice?
I am sort of competent, but would appreciate any inputs
Cheers
Jim
