Installing Chart Plotters

Does anyone know where we can get some advice on the optimum location to install a Humminbird Chartplotter on a 1987 Carver Aftcabin with inboard motors? Is it best to install inside the hull or on the transom?

welcome to the made house.... I asume you are referring to the GPS antenna when you state optimum location on the transom rather than the plotter itself ?

It is the location of the transducer. It can be mounted inside a single layer hull, or on the transom. I contacted the manufacturer (Humminbird), but they did not recommend one location over the other. Thanks for the question. We are new boaters.
