Is there a way to install a standard transom mount fishfinder transducer in a steel-hulled sailboat? My present transducer is encased in a steel tube filled with resin. Can I use the same system? Will there be a problem with angles, since the TM is 24o and the TH 12o? Thanks in advance.

You can use a steel tube,When I was fitting them I had the tube long enough so that the top end is above the water line, then you can take it out whilst afloat to clean it.If the transducer is not round you will need a special tube made which because the opening is above w/l you can seal with rubber. It is best to fit it the first time out of the water and then you can see where everything is.Good Luck
