Inside Ferretti Brasil.

Cool piece of kit that multicopter. I'm surprised by the size of Ferretti's factory. They certainly mean business in the S American market and must have faith in the future there. Due to the import duties imposed by Brazil, many manufacturers outside the boat industry have either set up plants there or are actively looking at it. Is this the first Euro boat builder that has set up there? What about the Brit builders?

Azimut open a plant there just weeks after Ferretti, and Sessa recently opened its factory too.

No news from any Brit builders as far as I know. Brazil is a very good market right now. They sell like ten boats plus in the major shows (think they have 2) which is quite good atm considering what is happening around. By this I mean signing contracts at the show. Another new future market to watch will be Mexico, which is considered by many analysts the new China.

Unlike China both Brazil and Mexico have a very high boating perception clientele awaiting for cash. Same for Argentina and other South American countries.
By this I mean the passion for boats is there, so if people have money it is something they consider very open.

Yes, plenty of disposable cash in Brazil at the moment. Rio looks a fantastic place for a boat too. I'm not sure the Brit builders have the spare cash to throw at new yards in SA.

I did the Rio Boat show in a former life about 15 years ago and I am pretty sure one of the Italian yards had a place out there then to avoid the tax, as did the Americans.

Even then Brazil was the largest purchases of private jets outside the USA

Fairline also had four boats there, the dealer also had a large car and a larger gun....

Most the personal watercraft were also imported in bits..

Stunning cruising ground.

In a recent Brazil boat show Brits announced good results. Was it Fairline that it sold four boats there.
Azimut used to sell open boats to Intermarine, then fitted and finished by them and recent like 10 years they started giving them some molds in agreement.
Recently though Azimut and Intermarine parted ways. Now Azimut opened a new factory with a new partner, and Internmarine is developing its own brand.
Ferretti also use to do a similar strategy in Argentina with the small sub 60feet models in ninties.

Interesting you say that PYB about Azimut and Intermarine as I was convinced 3-4 years ago I'd seen an Intermarine boat that looked incredibly similar to a smaller Azimut (maybe 43 or 46). Wonder what Azi will do with the '50' moulds?

CMJ the agreement is finished since 2009.
The Intermarine Azimuts used to be very similar with some window differences, and hull extension aft for larger aft deck and bathing platform. This detail is very important for Brazilian boaters/
So yes in Azimut model looks the model could have been the 42 and extended as a 46.
