The Burnham Inshore Lifeboat was out on Sunday and bought back an S29 with engine problems. Felt sorry for the 4 people onboard as they had planned to collect their new ( to them ) boat from Burton Waters in Ipswich and take her up the Thames to its new home. There were lots of black bits clogging up the fuel filters  So the run down the Wallet to the Whitaker Bouy where it stopped must have shook up all the gunk in the bottom of the tanks. They were under the impression that Volspec would clean out the tanks and rescue the 300+ litres of fuel. Clean all the pipes and filters and they could come back and collect it.

I pointed them in the direction of YBW Motor Boat Forum.

His parting comments as they headed for the train. "Been an expensive day"

I did suggest he got quotes for the work rather than just tell them to get on with it.

Shame really. Nice guy. For a MOBO

Hate to think how much the train into London was for four adults. Cost me £24 to get to Ipswich without booking in advance.

Hope he gets it all sorted. Sounds like DEAD diesel bug.

No matter what he does its going to be expensive but then thats boating :(

sorted

To exfin sailor - I'm the S29 guy.

Have ben carefully listening to your advises, joined YBW. Cleaned the tanks with a good company -Tech Tank. Good value for money and a great guy.

All sorted we joined home at Broomhouse on Friday. Gear problems prompted and sorted DIY.

Now discovery the waste pump jamming pleasures. Tough ****, we will sort this one out too though as we love boating.

Thanks for the tip.
