FYI, link below to a short piece from IWN magazine in Ireland which was aimed at inland boaters on the shannon considering a coastal excursions. The inland Shannon consists of large loughs (inland seas) connected by the mighty river shannon and has access to the sea and SW coast via Limerick city.
