Hi all,
Planning to go by car this time, Mid May, to Lefkas, and was going to treat it as an extra holiday by taking a week to do the trip through France, Switz' and Italy.

I was wondering if you have any suggestions on routes, sightseeing and camping sites. BTW we are taking our dog so it can keep me company when I'm in the dog-house!

Thanks

Just a huge number of options. When I did it (to Corfu via Brindisi) I did quick on the way out using the Michelin route through Dunkirk (cheapest ferry),Brussels, Luxembourg E25 to Strasbourg, Basel, N2 via St Gotthard overnight in Lugano then Milan, Bologna and A14 to Brindisi. Two days solid driving!

Return over 6 days up the middle of Italy, stops determined by car interests, so Maranello, Mulhouse, Molsheim, Reims and back via Dunkirk. Stayed in Motels/hotels so able to drive/sightsee most of each day. Camping would allow at least 8 days for the trip and 2 weeks would not be excessive. Not cheap, either. Our trip cost well over £1k including fuel and cheapest ferry in 2009 - probably at least 30% more now.

Well worth it for the experience
