Hi to all,

some of you will have seen recent posts from me.
Good progress so far.

So heads are off and on the workbench.
After much reading, and lots of patience, the injectors are now out, and the sleeves remain in place, and all looks good.

As this is the first time, I am taking pics of everything, and labeling the key parts which are matched, to go back in the same place/order etc.

Q.
After taking them to a local injector specialist (autos/trucks nr Southampton - 'yeah mate, we do old marine diesels all the time') for a check/clean etc,

Do the injectors have to go back in the same sleeve/head??
Or does matching the sleeve/injector not matter.

Also,
should there be a soft washer (copper?) at the bottom of the sleeve and near the end of the injector?
It appears there are 'washers' on the injectors (would be bottom in situ), but they appear firmly attached at present.
So,
are these part of the injector body??
or are they separate but I leave them in place??
or is this a remove and replace item??

Valves and seats next ... :)

Not that it matters for this question, but Penta MD11C.

The fact that it is a Volvo does matter. Some models do not use copper washers, but the injector refurb guys tend to supply them as part of the deal. Fitting them causes problems. Do you have the parts manual? That should show if they are needed.

Have a close look and gently see if you can prise one off. If you can, question answered.

Oh. Doesn't matter which goes where.
