Initial starting of Eberspacher D5

Have almost finished installing an Eberspacher D5. Bit late for this winter, but never mind I'll catch the next one. Anyway, the thought occurs, do I have to bleed diesel up to the pump before I fire it up for the first time or just go for it with empty pipework. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

just fire it up
it will sort its self out but might take a few starts

Cheers for that. I was a bit worried about this lockout after a unspecified number of failed starts. The manual seem a bit vague on just how many attempts.

you could wire the pump up to 12v and click it on and off, by tapping the wire to the pump, until you have diesel comming out, then connect it up.
