Info and comments on Marine Power 332HE diesel engine

Looking at buying a Westerly 33 - re-engined (2012) with a Marine Power 332HE engine. Anyone have first hand knowledge of these engines? There is limited info on the web regarding these motors other than they are Chinese made copies of a Nissan block motor. I have been on Marine Power website but information is limited and it is difficult to talk to someone in person. Any information good or bad would be much appreciated and would help in my decision making process re purchase of this boat.

One of the downsides of fitting an obscure engine even though the initial cost may be lower, not necessarily a good long term decision (presumably by a previous owner!). M Power have a mixed history with at least 3 different importers to my knowledge and have never made any real impression on the leisure market although perhaps more impact with the bigger HP in the commercial sector. The "midi" range was a good almost direct replacement for a Perkins 4/107/8. All copies of Japanese engines, but not exact so little interchangeability. They still list a 332, but don't know if it is the same engine as you have. Best give the current agents a call marine-power.net/mini-27hp---46hp.html
