I used the electric inflator which I bought for the car - it came with some adaptors, the one for footballs fitted my fenders once I'd thickened it up a bit with a few turns of tape
I used the good old faithful car tyre foot pump. One of the adaptors is about 25 mm long, 2 mm diameter. steel tube with a hole in the side. Not ideal. Push hard, pump hard. Eventually the fenders will come to life. More than enough for an evenings exercise, too!
I have a jump start with built in compressor (Screwfix) I got some adaptors for fenders on the net. Marinespeed I think. Just plug it in and watch it inflate.
If you haven't got any adaptors, just press the end of a car foot pump firmly up against the hole and they will probably inflate anyway. It works on mine! You don't need fenders to be rock hard anyway. They spread the load better if they are slightly soft.
We usually take our to the local garage and cause hell for the forecourt attendants. We unscrew the tyre-adaptor off the end of the tyre-pump and shove the commercial end of the inflator and pressure-guage into the fender-valve. Takes us about 3 min to blow 6 fenders! When you put the plug back in the valve, put some vaseline on the plug- makes it easier to open them next time...
Thanks all
Managed to do it using my jump start pack & a football adaptor.
Pretty poor that they don't come with an adaptor really /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
First ones I have had that arrived flat.
