Searched the forum and googled, so just checking.

Thinking of buying some deflated fenders in the UK and bringing them to Portugal when I come back.

Do all fenders come with a non return flap and a plastic screw in stopper, or do I need to be careful what I buy?

and do I need a fender inflator pump, or can I use my Halfords Booster pack which has a tyre inflator facility?

Cheers

Richard

Bought some fenders earlier in the year and took them deflated to Italy.
Mine came with a small removable stopper and could be inflated with a football type needle inflater. Actually used the local garage air hose with no problem.

I don't know about ALL fenders but the ones we've had have an outer screw cover. We have a little kit of adaptors (bought in the local Spanish hypermarket) which has several types including the needle type and the plastic nozzle type. I have always used the plastic nozzles. I use an electric car tyre inflator which is handy to have on board for things like clearing blockages as well as inflating higher pressure items that the tender pump won't handle.

But we don't pay any more for fenders here in Spain than in the UK so why bother, especially with limited baggage allowances? Might also get them ripped open for a little look by customs??
