I have just bought an inflatable to get to and from the mooring. For various reasons (not just laziness) it would be much better for me to leave it in the water all the time, but if I do that I know it will soon accumulate a growth of weed. I am sure I read somewhere that you should not use normal antifouling on a rubber boat.

Any ideas on the best way forward.

Why not just take it onto the beach evry month and scrub it down, only takes a few minutes. IMHO much better then antifouling it. This is what I do with mine.

Try a product called Safe Boat Skin. It is not anti-fouling and allows your hull to gather weed until the boat moves when the growth will slide off. It needs about four knots to shift it. If your tender will not do that, then turn it upside down on the beach and simply wipe off the gunge. I use it on my RIB and it's great.
