Inflatable dinghy leaks, water not air

My wetline 290 air deck stays inflated no problem but it suffers from an ingress of water in use. Can't find a hole and feel it must be just weeping through the seams. Is there something I can paint on the seams or has anyone a better idea or diagnosis? Thanks. Alan

can you raise it above the ground and fill with water, this may show where thev leak is. Possibly.

I had the same problem with a new inflatable and after a while I realised that the water was coming from the drain plug at the transom, it was not obvious at all; so look carefully to establish where the water in coming from.

You can get flexible inflatable dinghy paint which should sort the problem.

One of my friends has the same trouble with his deflateable .... except this was air escaping from he centre seam. I took it to the repair man who told me that the air deck is in two parts and joined along the centre seam. The water can enter any where along it ... and come out at any breaks.

He also told me that it was a very time consuming job to repair an air deck with these sorts of leaks because it is difficult to find the leak and then to repair it ..... and no guarantees of success. He quoted $800 .... with no guarantees!!

Many of the air decks have long guarantees too.
