I'm trying to find some replacement eyelets for my inflatable dinghy (the eyelets that the grab lines run through around the tubes) but I can't seem to find them online. Has anyone replaced theirs or have any suggestions where I can get them from? Are they called eyelets of is there a more specific name? They appear (what's left of them) to be nickel plated brass, approx 27mm ext. Diam. , 15mm internal diam. Thought there must be someone online selling them but have so far drawn a blank.

Ordinary brass eyelets are readily available from chandlers, hardware stores and handicraft stores etc.

Polymarine are usually good for parts for inflatable dingies.

Life lines are usually run through fittings like these

Vics - the grab lines on suzumars are woven through a flap on top of the tubes - see pic if it appears

Stork-III - thanks for the link, I'd tried ebay but not found those.

In fact I think you will find that those eyelets are stainless steel. The ones in Stork III's link are stainless so should do nicely. Google finds other suppliers

I dont know how easy it is to fit stainless ones ... I have only ever used brass ones . You will need the proper tool!

The old ones (the crumbling remains of which sit in front of me as I type) were nickel coated brass and have lasted probably 8 years or so (not sure of usage as I got the dinghy 2nd hand). Stainless might last longer but not sure if they'll be the same quality in terns of thickness of metal and manufacture. I've bought a set of the ebay ones to try, the only other source I've found is www.handtooling.com but the sizes aren't right.

As for difficulty fitting stainless ones - I have an O'level in metalwork, what could possibly go wrong? ;)
