Hi everyone, I am doing my dissertation on the Marine Industry perspective of the Yachtmaster Offshore and in particular, Fast Track Yachtmaster courses. If you currently work in, or have done in the past, in the Marine Industry, as a skipper, crew, shorebased staff (HR) anything like that, or have, or working towards your Yachtmaster Offshore, please take 10 mins to complete this questionnaire.

One of the options, ie renaming the YM as FTYM, is not needed, since no-one in the marine industry would employ simply on the basis of a 'basic qualification', without looking into the background/experience of the candidate. It is 'basic' & only a stepping stone toward further experience/ qualification.

Some VERY limited choices in the questionnaire, e.g. don't know. for several questions.

Good luck in your dissertation.

I completed the form.
Don’t know how much help it will be, I picked the neutral option mostly. Except for the last question about adding FT.
Marine industry, Not yachts. So I might not fit your survey.

Which course are you taking at Plymouth?

Annother thing you should consider, is that a Fast Track YM from UKSA, involves a lot more than simply a YM ticket, they learn about yacht systems, painting/varnishing, ropework, grp repairs & much more, all of which might make them more attractive to Superyacht employers.
