Since fitting the eberspacher we have been bathing in the warm and gentle breezes of an Indian Summer and I've not had the damn thing switched on.
This winter I am fitting an electric anchor windlass - does anyone know if there is to be a severe drought thus halving depths in all scottish anchorages and creating yet another piece of unneccesary expenditure?
I suppose I could guarantee this by investing in some new waterproofs.
Three more weekends then out comes Claymore - toys back in the box for another year.

If you want to see a change in the weather, just plan a trip?

You can all thank me for this Indian summer. I pulled a muscle in my arm cutting the hedge and have had to give sailing a rest. I didn't think that single handed could be done literally single handed.
It is on the mend so the fine weather will not last much longer.

Yes, John. But it's not all bad. I can't decorate the house either.
Have to stick to walking in the Lakes and holding a pint glass in my other hand.

Glaramara

Went up there last weekend from Rosthwaite and along to Allen Crags then back down to Seathwaite. Superb walk - you could almost touch the Langdales they seemed so close.
Very hot - its the indian summer you know!

Re: Keswick-Rosthwaite

I parked in Keswick the other weekend and strolled along to Lodore Falls and caught the boat back. Lovely day. Standing on the waters edge at Keswick you could almost reach out and touch the mountains behind Borrowdale. But the few yachts on Derwent Water were going nowhere. Reminded me of my year sailing on Windermere.

Sorry but it is going to rain, the waxed jackets have just been sent off for a long overdue service...

Yes, although over 1 knot on Windermere was an achievement, I can remember a couple of occasions when the wind gusted down the lake. At least on the sea there is plenty of water if you are suddenly blown off course.

We parked on the National Truss park where the bus turns round at Seatoller. I don't know why I started talking about Rosthwaite. Dear Heart does the navigation and I carry the gear - seems to work!
