There we were sailing happily through the top of the Alderney Race in F8 against a spring tide when we were knocked over by what was obviously wake from a powerboat ... when will some of these guys exercise a bit of consideration?

Tut tut

Sorry, didn't expect any raggies to be out in that weather. I'll slow down a bit next time

Well if you could not see it, it must have been a long long way away. How the hell would he know you were there. Anyway if in alderney races I would have thought quite enough waves and another little one would make little difference. Get a grip on your self!!

Och I did see him , it was a Glastron GS209 going like the clappers.

It must have been v v v close for a 20ft boat at full wack, minium wash, to have upset you, or you cant be used to waves!!!!

Are you sure it wasn't the splash from your mates glasses falling in the oggin that made you wet?

Blimey a Glastron out in a Force 8, now I know your bullsh***ing me!

How the hell would you notice any extra waves out there amongst the many that are there already?

The words "Kitchen", "Heat" and "Stay out" spring to mind.

Know what you mean. Quietly out for sail, 40 kt winds 6-7m waves, when an under 7m sportsboat on the plane causing 1m of wash causes total havoc. Its just got to stop. Was he above or beneath the water?

Could be that the F8 is actually a make and model of Rag and Stick, and it was dead calm and the rag and stick is only 8 foot long and the glaston was going flat out and it did cause a wake and ...... well maybe not but you never know. Equally as unlikely as the orignal posting /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Its worse than that! The little bugger zoomed off the back of a 20 foot wave landed on the crest of a 15 foot overhanging one causing it to collapse and break all over me. Think he was on his way to Plymouth /... he shouted something about beans and flags but did'nt quite catch it as I was lighting my pipe at the time.

THAT'S him! The one who took Brian's glasses. You'd better ask for them back.

Don't blame the poor chap in the Glastron. The real culprit was my mother-in-law leaping in for a dip:-))

Bill.

Excellent - I've enjoyed the entire thread. You had a few of us going there Jimi. I only had to look at your biog and see B331 to think hmmmmm....

I would have enjoyed being on your boat in an F8.
