I am seeking up to date information on INCHCAPE motor yachts built at Eyemouth Boat Building Co Ltd, Eyemouth, Scotland. These vessels were designed by J. Francis Jones and James Evans. Built between 1963 & 1990.

There were also a number of other one off designs also built at this yard.

There is a "Sea, Salts & Sail" Festival in Eyemouth this August (12th-16th) and we are trying to contact as many Owners as possible of yachts built in Eyemouth. Hence if you have any information please drop me a line...

I regret I am unable to offer any information of any value to you in your quest, but for a period I lived in Cockburnspath just north of Eyemouth and travelled to Edinburgh twice a week for 2 years in the company of James Evans' sister in law. If my memory serves me well, he was the deputy Lord Lieutenant for Berwickshire at that time. He was also a leading light in the Berwickshire Tories, and was host to the then leader of the opposition, Mrs Thatcher, who visited the area prior to the 1979 election. I've often thought there was something ironic in the way her period in office led to the start of the collapse of the fishing industry with the knock on effect for the Eyemouth Shipbuilding Co. which was responsible for some very fine leisure craft as well as fishing boats as your post indicates.
