Surprised this has not already been mentioned on here, or have I missed it?

Anyway I acquired a copy and it is well up to his standard. Many cite Maurice Griffiths books as an inspiration, and they are, but they are "historic" to me; a time I do not have experience of. But "Sailing Just for Fun" is my "Swatchways" book. It is relevent to me and echoes some of my experiences.

Anyway "In Shoal Waters" is a worthy sequel(?) although I did think when I first started reading it that it was just a re-hash. It isn't.

Well worth acquiring. In fact recommended.

Happy to second you on that, CoVianna. I found his practical, down to earth exploits and obvious delight in what they were doing quite inspirational. My only (tiny) complaint was that the version I had had not been well proof read and the frequent typos were a bit distracting.

In Shoal Waters -- corrected reprint

The book's publisher here -- thanks for the kind words about In Shoal Waters. I was mortified to realise that the version which found its way into print fell way short of my usual standard of text -- due in part to the burning of too much midnight oil. The book was corrected and reprinted (both the HB and PB), and all purchasers I have been able to contact have had their copies replaced, and have been asked to recycle the originals. If you bought a copy other than direct from my website, and it doesn't say 'reprinted with minor corrections' on the reverse of the title page, please PM me.

I would just like to say, that following comments on this forum, Lodestar books sent me a corrected copy of In Shoal Waters free of charge.

Excellent service. Above and beyond the call.

That's a kind offer, Dick, thank you. I won't trouble you as I lent my copy to a friend years ago and haven't got it back, but happy to recommend the book to others.
