Hi everyone,
I am considering doing a sailing app in which you could see the services each port offers and also how to get in and out depending on the weather conditions. Please let me know whether this last point would be helpful or if there would be any other sort app that might be more helpful and needed. Thanks a lot in advance your honesty is appreciated

Good luck. It might be helpful but bear in mind the amount of work involved in maintaining such a project. We have had others in the past propose something like this but invariably it has defeated them. Two at least put up samples of the port information they proposed, sadly it was less comprehensive and less up to date than existing on-line resources.

If you are serious about this I would suggest you approach one of the existing information providers to see if they would be interested in having their data extended or made available in a different format. What could you offer compared say with Reed's iPad Almanac?

The key to something like this isn't the app but the data. Are you planning to source your own (and if so, how?) or package someone else's (and if so, whose?) ?

Or have you not even considered that yet (and if so, fail)?

Pete

Chart plotter and radar super-imposed on Google Earth. That would do me.
