We are waiting our 180 days to get back into the EU right now, but in May we will be leaving Sicily to sail to Greece. We have family and friends that want to visit us and stay in a hotel or an Airbnb that would be close by. Our sailboat is 8 meters. We would like to have a home port from May to the end of July that has some great day sails. We would prefer to be on the Aegean Sea side of Greece. Any ideas and marinas for us would be very helpful. Thank you

Lavrion marina is near the airport but I doubt you can find a place. Olympic marine is also close to the airport but I expect that to be quite expensive (well you get what you pay for). You could check on the internet for both anyway.

Are you aware that the Corinth Canal is still closed so to get to the Aegean you have to sail around the Pelopenese?

Have you considered Lefkas which is well served by Preveza airport?
Alternatively, Kalamata is nice and the airport is very close by. Not as busy a sailing area as the Ionian

You could consider Evoiko Sea Centre (EVOIKOSEACENTER.GR - BOAT PARKING | CHALKOUTSI OROPOS ATTIKIS | Yacht Hall Out & Dry Docking) at Halkoutsi. It is a yard rather than a marina, but with good facilities. Athens international airport is 45 miles away by road - a taxi cost €80 last time I did it, or a considerably cheaper option is to get a train from Sfendali station about 4 miles from the Centre, to Athens airport via one easy change at Ska.

P.S. If you really want a marina, the nearest one to the airport is Olympic Marine (Olympic Marine | the Aegean explorers’ preferred marina ), a couple of miles from Lavrion. (Unlike Lavrion itself, there is generally plenty of space). It is about 25 miles from Athens international airport, though travel is only practicable by taxi. However Olympic Marine is, to my mind, a grossly overpriced marina, considering its isolated position and lack of facilities.

The West coast of Attiki (the peninsula where Athens is located) has a few marinas but is it expensive, however, the East coast of Attiki has few small marinas and harbours and are cheaper. The coast from Chalkis all the way down to Rafina and even further south, has small harbours that are used by local yachts ; worth a try. The Athens airport is one hour away by car.
