Hi
I am new to the forum so hope this is the right way to approach this. I am in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil for several weeks and have 4 hours to kill weekday afternoons from 13h. I am looking to get out on the water. I have done some sailing but am very much a beginner; willing to learn. I have however got an ICC for Power up to 24m (coastal and inland) and a VHF Radio Licence. I have had small boats and am comfortable with them, but I still think of myself as a beginner (I have nobody to compare myself to).
If anybody is in Rio and would like to say hi or wants some company out on the water, I would be happy to come (and lend a hand). I know the way to Copacabana, Ipanema and Leblon (turn right out of the Guanabara bay). I should say, if you are looking for help in with the language, my Portuguese is basic, but I can always call my wife and ask her, she is a Carioca.
I am off to Marina da Glória tomorrow to see what I can find. I plan to get a boat here eventually, but for now I am just frustrated.
Thanks
Pall
