I purchased a Sea Hopper Scamp sailing dinghy for my son about 8 years ago when he was 7.

It fits reasonably well down the side decks of my Rasmus when under way and comes out in anchorages, etc. It's been well used and abused, we've given it a couple of rubdowns and revarnishes over the years and it still looks great today.

It has exceeded my expectations of sturdiness, but it is not the most close-winded of machines!

Anyway, here is a video of my son sailing it at the anchorage at Abermenai Point in North Wales. PLEASE NOTE You may see PIRATE FLAGS being flown in this video.

Has anyone else out there got a Sea Hopper and what do they think?

I bought one, but there were some problems with the purchase process - the boat was very late, slightly damaged and most of the bits never arrived. I'd be interested in buying a used one though.

There's a great Seahopper Owners Group (and prospective owners) on Facebook.

Contains a wealth of info and likeminded people.

Also regularly updated with 2nd hand Seahoppers for sale.

Good to see another Sea Hopper owner. My dad has one which he lovingly sails every time he gets the chance. The thing I love about them is the attention you get when you put it together :D
