In-line lecy meter

I have just taken up a winter berth at Darthaven marina. River Dart. They told me that if I want shore power I must buy / use a in-line electricity meter. I have costed one of these and prices seem to start at about £120 !
What does the forum think ?
Is the marina being reasonable ?
Do other marinas insist on this?
Are there any cheaper in-line electricity meters?
