In-line diesel fuel filter

I have a small clear plastic in line filter on the diesel line to the generator (and a second on the fuel line to the diesel heater). I want to change these but I can’t find any information anywhere as to whether these small filters a diesel specific whether I can simply buy any 8mm in line filter and use that … does anyone know whether petrol and diesel filters are different?

yes not specific can be diesel or petrol no difference.
