In honour of Jimi\'s 10,000th post...

Cam ye o'er frae France? Cam ye doon the Hamble?
Saw wee Jimi lad gaein’ fer a ramble?
Were ye near the boat ca'd the fair Glen Rosa?
Saw ye Jimi lad haein a wee doze?

Jimi, he's a man, there is little doot o't;
He's done a' he can, wha can dae wi’oot it?
Doon there came a yacht, yellin’ “gie us water”'
”Ha!” said Jimi lad, shoutin’ “Nae quarter!”

Though the rudder were bad, blythly he did niffer;
Gaein’ roond and roond, it makes little differ.
Fray Bentos are his pies, he’s mony a wee tinnie
Nae bannets will ye see, like that worn by Jimi

Hey for bold Claymore! Hey for Para Handy!
Hey for Jimi lad, drinkin’ doon their shandy!
Mony a post they’ve made, awfie hard fae readin’;
Fer us Sassenachs, it’s Babelfish we’re needin’

(with apologies to the Jacobite rebels...)

Re: In honour of Jimi\'s 10,000th post...

This is the tale of little Jim
And the frightful fate that came to him,
From posting rot on his P.C.
Instead of working, like you and me /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif.
One day, inspired by things piscine,
Young Jimi hatched an evil scheme
And started posting tosh and pish
About a million kinds of fish.

All day long our hero worked
At finding fish: his duties shirked,
It soon became apparent to
His manager, and others, who
Demanded he pull up his socks
Instead of posting loads of c*ck.
Enraged by all these pompous calls
Young Jimi rashly shouted “Bawls”!

The fate that this importunate
Then suffered, was unfortunate.
Suspended from his normal tasks
He needs must don an online mask
And claim to be – let me be frank –
A ladyboy who drove a tank.
Which seems, to me, a grievous blow
For someone with a B*n*teau.

But woe betide the foolish child!
His nutty rants got e’er more wild
‘Til, tired out, our lad was seen
Slumped at his computer screen.
The moral of this story’s true –
To stop it happening to you,
Keep upon the narrow way
And only post ten times a day.

JHR recited with a swagger
got kicked in the balls and limped with a stagger

Why not post this sort of thing in the midden forum where it belongs. It should be easy to create one - the raw ingredients are there in abundance with a host of willing helpers.

Tacotm (cobra25) must be a nom-de-plume of another forumite who is expressing his alter-ego.
No-one can be that ceaselessly depressing.

Tis true yon forum's filled with words
that output often, but mote by nerds
Does often ryhme, but frequent not
And certain enough, we enjoy the rot

If only thine could reserve thy best
for kilo posts to sure impress
but all too often, we stretch our minds
but sadly talk from our behinds

The only saviour thy posters see
if sure enough a small mercy
to think that it could just be worse
We could talk crap like TACOTM does

Tae TACOTM

Wee, sleekit, cow'rin, tim'rous beastie,
O, what a panic's in thy breastie!
Thou need na start awa sae hasty,
Wi' bickering brattle!
I wad be laith to rin an' chase thee,
Wi' murd'ring pattle!

I'm truly sorry man's dominion
Has broken Nature's social union,
An' justifies that ill opinion
Which makes thee startle at me,
thy poor earth-born companion,
An' fellow-mortal!

I've wondered about that. TACO™ - not one of yours surely?

Cobra 25

He signed one of his responses to me as KMA, which I thought might be his initials.

Although I'm a slow learner, my overall internet experience has now led me to realise he was being rude at my expense.

Developing the theme, I think TACOTM is probably a greeting of some sort.

He's very clever, isn't he?

Re: Cobra 25

Cobra 25 aka TACOTM is a useful asset to the forum reminding us of our visibility to nutters!

Re: Cobra 25

ahem - is it normal for a grown man to choose a name such as erm .... muppet features, and a picture of a shaggy puppet to represent him ?

ok ....... in this forum perhaps /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
