This will be muy first foray into getting a chart plotter, tablet and need a new mobile, so would like to get ythings I can integrate. I looked at a past thread about Imray V Navionics for 2011, which highlighted many propblems with both, easy of use, no proper user instruction manual, Navionics having several missing features to show progress, has the situation changed now.
What would users of the above suggest, or maybe there is a new kid on the block that beats them both.

I have imray on my iphone, and when I bought an ipad, it went on that too for free.

When I emailed imray for help because I didn't understand something (instructions are not its best part) I had a full and detailed personal reply, rather than a standard cut and paste response.
I've been happy with it, although I've not looked at navionics

Or Memory Map?
I'm currently playing with my new Xoom 10" android tablet. I'm using MMap on a Win Mobile phone and PC and probably going to migrate it to the tablet, if it'll let me.
I have Imray but don't use it, don't like the reversed colours for drying heights..

Navionics have plugged the gaping hole in their app with a £2.99 add on module. The iPad now works with full plotter functions e.g. VMG, ETA, XTE.

Another vote for Memory Map - have it on an ipad. Bought the app from the app store and a CD of all admiralty UK charts for £25 from Memory map web site. Brilliant

Hi, not familiar with Memory map, how long have they been on the go. Are you familiar with say Navionics and Imray to make a comparison to these other systems.

Apple service is rubbish

i my quest for a phone and tablet i wanted to see what apple had against andriod in the way of charts and costs etc. Everyone has said Navionics on iphone is very good so went to the apple store online to find it. What a dogs--t site.
There is no window at the top to state what you are looking for, so you have to dig for it. By process of ilimination I find that I need the transport box. Click on here and about a 1000 apps come up but not in alphabetical order, Doh, why would you not want them like that. Went to the alphabet on the top and pressed N for navionics, nothing to be seen, decided to phone tech help, ages to get through, onto the USA. It took the operative 10 mins of lookingb herself and eventually she gets a web site that she finds it on but cant give me the info for me to find it, suggests I go into my local app store, not very good seeing it is 90 miles away. Undaunted I ring them up and start the same online process to get to the same stage that I cannot get it. She then says, I assume you are looking online on your Iphone or ipad. No I am not. Oh thats why you cant see the Navionics charts.
So they are not interested in you unless you have bought a product, they dont feel that a potential custmer should be able to check out what its all about before you buy, and they are supposed to be intersted in customer service, what a joke.
The thing that is beyond comprehension is,why put 1000's of apps online so you can view online with your home computer and yet not put all on and if they are going to reserve some for people who have already purchased, why not have a note on the web site.
I just hope the choice of phone and tablet does not point me towards apple products, pure dogs--e

I'm trying to work out what word would be spelt by filling in those two blank spaces. Do you think they do an app for that?

no experience of Navionics-

I have Imray on Pc, as I said, the drying heights colours are reversed. More seriously the prog was buggy, I think the CD had to be left in, Imray needs three discs/separate fees to cover UK and no option to load to portable device.

All the above may be out of date, my copy 2008/9

Hope this helps

Reversed compared to printed Imray charts? Or just different to Admiralty? Imray have used different colours since coloured charts came in - debatable whether they should have followed Admiralty instead, but it's not a fault in the software.
