My pencil (if you will pardon the expression) doesn't like imray charts. Is there a better alternative?

Use a 2B pencil. Which is what you should use on a chart anyway. 2B's work fine on Imray and are easy to rub out - softer lead. HB's are too hard and will score thru the chart.

Navman 5600 or similar - no more problems with pencil on the chart. or laminate the chart and use a chinagraph pencil.

I use Imray and B2 pencil. You are probably using a HB which is too hard does not make much of a mark. A B2 is also easier to rub out than a HB.

Re: Erase / rubber

Everyones correct use a 2B pencil. But also use a very soft erase (a rubber, particularly a used one,can be very messy /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif ) a hard erase can damage the chart surface.
