I am thinking of exporting a boat from outside the EU area and am aware that I will have to have it checked to comply witht the RCD - The boat is an 8 year old Searay - Can anyone tell me what complying witht the RCD involves and what it costs

There's no hard and fast rule but you are in effect contemplating put a boat retrospectively through a legislative process that is designed for new builds, which may make the whole thing uneconomic, depending on boat make, model and condition.
