Can I bring into the UK as a personal import my 5 h.p. 2-stroke outboard motor which I have owned in the USA for 18 months?
I realise I can't buy a new one in the UK but this is part of my personal effects.

yeah

Any trouble put a 4 stroke sticker on it /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

cheers Joe

It's only illegal to sell them new in the EU (not 2-strokes per se, but any engines unable to meet EU2006 emissions standards. The 'new' bit is also a little flexible, since some are being sold perfectly legally, notionally second-hand but unused).

I'm assuming that you're not proposing to bring it in as hand luggage on a 747. The cabin crew might take a different view.

So it looks okay to bring it in then - Good.

I've got some other stuff to ship back by sea so it'll be with together with that. /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
