Impellor prices.

Just starting spring maintaince grief on my 2 x Volvo A40A monsters.Both impellers have cracks on blades.
Volvo Price 46.00 + vat each
Volspec " 33.00 + vat each.
Anybody know anybody cheaper.
Ps.Both mention a "kit" presume that means a gasket inc in price ?Bargain or what

Fred, some of the Volvo pumps are actually Jabsco or Johnson pumps. A quick search of the web produced the equivalent numbers from a US site and you can then cost them from someone like ASAP Supplies or similar.
Other option is a mooch around a chandlers and look at the bags to see if theirs an equivalent.
Yup kit includes gasket and sometimes includes the seal.

I got mine from Johnson Pumps. 15 quid a pop. The one in mine is a Johnson bit anyway. It came in a Volvo pump!

Thanks for responces.Cheapest found was in states of course.$12.75.
Ahem,think that translates into about 9.00 real money?.

I have KAD42s and measured them, identified part needed from ASAP and then gave them a call and they confirmed correct number. About £14 each so even have a spare now!

On my engine johnson part number is 1028.

If you use "alternate" non Volvo, or non original equipment parts, would this invalidate your warranty. My guess would be that any excuse would allow the worms to wriggle out of a warrenty claim. I suppose on machinery not under guarentee it would not matter provided the parts are manufactured to the required standard. I dont think i would want to save £15 on an impeller and have an expensive engine repair to contend with that could run in to thousands.

Hi Fred,got Jabsco's on my little girly engines,got a kit last year and they included the backplates,this year they did'nt.Might be worth the money if yours include backplates.

The engines are over 20 years old and long long ago forgot that spare parts should have the word Volvo on them.Prices so far as follows.
v.....o 46.00
keyparts 33.00
Johnson 23.00
ASAP. 19.00.+2.5 disc if order online.

I've got three Johnson 1028's unused (2 in plastic display cards, 1 loose) left over as spares from previous engines.

How about £20 inc. postage, any takers?
