i need an impeller puller for an impeller 130mm long, and minor diameter (ignoring the blades) of 60 mm, overall dia (not too sure ) must be about 95 mm. The normal ones are no good, such the 30 quid jobs from asap in beccles. Any ideas of a source?

define the normal ones

any decent puller with an 1" shaft should make short work of it. ive got one in my garage but not much use to you there, any motor factor shopuld have one but it wil cost a bit. if you have tried and failed, put it back on with the nut slacked off but still in place, tighten it up as tight as you can, warm the boss of the prop with a blow lamp and then give the head of the puller a good twat with a lump hammer (its ok ive done this all my life with recaltitrant bits of obstinate steel) the loose nur on the shaft stops it dropping on your toe.
it will come off

I saw some on display in Volspec at Tollesbury on Saturday morning. Not sure if they are the right dimensions for you but you could give them a ring 01621-869756

GMS Marine had one on display last week, he rebuilds Perkins to look like new so I suspect knows what he's doing.
Bell him on 01634 844114

PS Good for Perky spares as well as he was the only one who knew what Sun Coast was on about!
