Impeller drive shaft seal?

I have had water leaking past the the impeller drive shaft and dripping from where the pump meats the engine. I have removed the pump and am a bit baffled as to where the seal is located. Behind the bearing retained by a circlip or tother end behind the impeller itself ? Any ideas anyone?

Usually behind the impeller, that bronze plate in there should lift out but it might take a bit of gentle levering

yes remove the cam & wear plate.
make sure the replacement has an s/s spring available from bearing boys or similar retail factor
check the shaft for wear & buy 2 or 3 seals whilst your at it

I think you will find another seal behind the bearing,to keep oil from leaking. May be wise to replace it as well. Probably same part # as the water seal.
When re-installing seals,the open lips go opposite directions to each other.
