I\'m wondering if one of these might just have a role in MOB recovery.

Having just changed my estate car for a roadster and therefore having nowhere to carry a ladder, I have just bought one of these.

We currently carry a 7' rigid ladder on board as our bow is very high and when we moor bows-to in the Med it is difficult to get aboard from low quaysides. This ladder is also equipped with permanent lashings so that it can be fixed firmly to the side-deck gate which allows a good 3-4 ft below sea level which should be easy enough to climb up.

The telescopic might or might not be an improvement but it will certainly tidy up our decks and provide a much longer ladder for winter maintenance AND by airline transportable at 8.5kgs

We always carry a ladder, an old wooden thing, when we go away for more than a weekend. I've never used it but it regularly gets borrowed by other brits for all sorts of uses. It's a good source of free bottles of wine when in foreign parts. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

1) there are loads of places you can get surveyors ladders much cheaper, Costco for a start.

2) Is made of aluminium and when put anywhere neer a boat will suffer instant 'extending boathook disease' rendering it useless.

Must be a silly question, but are they certificated for commercial use ? If US origin, a UL code perhaps ?
