Re: I\'m SOOO fed up

Well you will just need to cuddle up to Mr B to keep warm, then. I'm sure you'll enjoy that!!!!

I am fitting an Eberwasit! to my boat next Saturday, Mine better not pack in.

BTW, if you have no Power or Internet, how are you managing to get on here?

Re: I\'m SOOO fed up

Im at work Alistair. Someone has to support Mr B. And I will NOT be cuddling up to him until he has fixed my boat.

As for the Eber whatsit, it's very good when it works but this is the second one we've had and they've both been trouble. This time it's the wick. I think we've spent about £5-6K on them over the last couple of years.

Re: I\'m SOOO fed up

A member of my family works for Eberspacher down near Bournemouth.
If i can query and problems you have with it, with him? I'll certainly see what i can do to help.

Re: I\'m SOOO fed up

Thanks Alistair. Our unit is being fixed and serviced now. I just hope it doesn't take too long and the electrics are fixed by the time its back.

I don't think we would buy another. Three boats on our pontoon had problems with their Eberspachers .... I think the guys were discussing whether or not it could be the fuel we use at the marina. I have no idea about that.

Re: I\'m SOOO fed up

I had a Eberspacher fitted to my old Truck. The unit ran like a dream for 8 years, used every week, and never once serviced. I have since sold the truck with the unit still in place.
We don't want to get into a diesel debate here, but as many of you know i have a Petrol boat, and the unit is Diesel, so we are putting a small diesel take into run the unit. My Uncle who works for Eberspacher, and is helping me fit it, has told me to use regular White Diesel, as it is a better grade than Red diesel, And thus i shouldn't have to many problems. I Never used Red in my Truck.
Maybe the filters in your engine are better than the ones in the Eberspacher?
Who knows.

Tip from eberwatsit man. Run ebby on parafin for an hour. It's like new again. So he said

Re: I\'m SOOO fed up

Could be true. We fit Eberwotsits in the cabs of our construction machines (which run on red diesel) and they last about 2 yrs and then pack up. Luckily our warranty runs out well before then
I also have heard that red diesel is an inferior grade to white diesel. Makes you think how our boat engines would perform on road diesel especially that BP Ultimate stuff which is supposed to give a 7-10% performance increase
Anyone know about diesel fuel grades?
