My yacht Quoi Ca Dit was damaged in a fall in Power Boats boatyard in Chaguaramus, Trinidad in the Caribbean in 2006.

It has been stored there ever since in its damaged state. I now have to sell her to settle the yard bill.

Power Boats have agreed to provide the new owner with 6 months of yard space.

The auction will be over in 10 days. There is a small reserve. See the Ebay UK site here:

Think you will find there was an insurance company involved and liability was admitted. However the owner of the boat and the insurer were unable to come to an agreement on compensation. The OP has explained it in detail here in the past. A salutary lesson on dealing with third party insurers.

The £10 charge is acting as a token of agreement that the material is dated, and no liability for its accuracy is accepted by me, the surveyors, or anyone else. It is also to be kept confidential as it is only being supplied to help the prospective buyer to decide on the yachts value. It is not being supplied for discussion in public ..... I am not prepared to do that ....

I have got nothing to hide about the condition of the yacht. I am trying to supply all that is available to any serious prospective buyer. The reports themselves differ in their findings ..... in determining the extent of damage. The true extent of the damage may only be found as the damaged material is removed ..... and repairs are undertaken. The reports were to try and quantify the magnitude and cost of repairs before any repairs were attempted, i.e. to provide quantum for damages.

Please be assured that I will answer any reasonable questions as to the condition of the yacht to the limits of my knowledge. I will not answer any questions regarding the claim as it is not pertinent to the sale of the yacht.

Presumably to stop every curious Tom, Dick and Harry asking for a copy just to satisfy their own nosiness. If nothing else, the surveyors will have written them on the assumption of them not being available to all and sundry. Someone with any serious possibility of buying the boat wouldn't blink at it - it's a drop in the ocean of what they're going to be paying!

Do you have written agreement from the yard re the cancelling of the debt and the free storage?
 
I've just got a rather peculiar email via my advert in boats_for_sale. They want me to 'log' onto there site using my email ...... sounds crook to me. Any scams going about?
 
There are lots of scams on the go.
The most usual one is for someone to write "Yes I want to buy your boat through my agent. I would be obliged if you would send my agent the sum of £3,600, to cover his expenses. I will of course refund these monies once the sale is completed".
 
I have just re-listed my yacht for a 3-day action on ebay with no reserve, but a higher starting price.

I had hoped that the low starting price would have encouraged some bidding inertia ..... but I think all it did was to put a 'value' to the yacht .... which was not intended.
