Ken's off there immediately, he's been trying to get the Twister up on the plane for years, could be his only chance/forums/images/icons/smile.gif

I hope 'bocht' is jockish for boat. Not for botched.

And I'm proud to say that Twisters do nothing in a rushed fashion. Although we did average a little over 6 kts on our last channel crossing, which is quite a pleasant speed for a boat with a 21 foot waterline, a small rig, and 2 tons of lead in the keel.

Well it sort of emerged as strangled Jockeordie did'nt it, I was in the middle of a marmite and smokey bacon crisp sandwich at the time.

According to my calculations you should have a max speed (non surfing) of 6.4kn,
do you need some help with your sail trim?

Sinbad the Sailorman, lead in a pencil is a misnomer, it is actually graphite which as carbon is non metallic. It is called lead because when Ken was at school he and other children were given a slate and a bit of lead flashing off the church roof to write with. Hence afterwards erasable pencils became associated with the word lead.

Re: Whaddya mean

Damn - when I went to look the churchwarden told me it had been sent off to make bullets - not that another schoolboy had nicked it!

Pencils

Thats a very good question. Now you can speed up your computer considerably with the judicious use of a carefully applied pencil. First of all some basics , a computer works with chips, bits and electricity. A pencil is one of the few things that can supply two of these things and ease the passage of the third. When you sharpen your pencil with your sailing knife you will be left with little wooden chips and bits of graphite. Just post these in the considerately placed letterbox in the computer that some times doubles as a drinks holder. Now as you know graphite is one of the few substances which is both a conductor and a lubricant, by scribbling heavily over all the shiny interior bits of the computer you will make the electricity not only work faster but it will also take the odd shortcut thus cosiderably speeding up processing time. Now go off and give it a go, you might need a screwdriver and hammer as well!
